Part I Useful Sentences 惯用单句

1. 我想要退钱。I’d like a refund please. = Can I have my money back?

I’ve come to return this shirt. 我来退这件衬衣。

2. 它的尺寸错了。It is the wrong size.

注：除了尺寸，顾客还会因颜色（color）、款式（style）、图案（pattern）不对而退换货。

3. 我对这东西不满意。I am not satisfied with this.

This scarf has some defects. 这条围巾有些瑕疵。

It has a stain here. 这里有污点。

defect n. 缺点，不足之处

4. 可以换成别的吗？Can I exchange this for something else?

Can I exchange it for another one? 能给我换一个吗？

5. 这儿是坏的。It is damaged here.

It does not work. 不好使了。

There is a crack on the back side. 背面有一道裂缝。

crack n. 裂缝，裂纹 broken adj. 出毛病的，损坏了的

damage 和break都表示“损坏、破坏”，但break指有形的或无形的东西被“打破、弄碎”；damage指不彻底地破坏，使其不能发挥正常作用，有时强调不可修复。

It is spoiled. 它变质了。 spoil v. 变质

7. 我一点都没有用过。I have not used it at all. = I haven’t used it yet.

8. 您能修改袖子的长度吗？Can you alter the sleeve length?

Assistant:	We can’t offer you a refund but we can exchange the dinner set. Do you have the receipt?
Customer:	Yes, here it is.
Assistant:	We don’t have that particular model in store today. But we can get you a replacement dinner set tomorrow.
Customer:	I don’t want to come back tomorrow. Is it possible to have the dinner set delivered to my hotel?
Assistant:	Yes, we can do that for you tomorrow afternoon.
Customer:	Thank you. What time can I expect the delivery?
Assistant:	Deliveries are from 12 in the noon till 4 pm.
